Todays blog post at daily golf deals san diego, I wanted to tell a personal story about what playing golf in the rain is like.
I know everyone would much rather play golf when the sun is shining but I think every golfer needs to experience at least one round in the pouring rain.
When you play golf in the rain it takes on a whole new experience. It's more about how dry can you keep your grips and how clean can you stay when hitting out of the mud.
I have played in a tournament where I witnessed a flying club because the persons grip slipped. You never imagine it would happen till it does. I mean, you know it's possible with the conditions but boy is it a sight.
Rain puts a whole different twist on the game because the fairways are mushy so your shots don't get any roll, and the greens are soaked so they are really slow. Sometimes you will even find the cups full of water so you end up having to fish your ball out...literally.
Sunny Southern California doesn't get a whole lot of rain but occasionally it does and it rains on and off all day. I just wanted everyone to think about playing golf in the rain.
